AET is a foundation whose core mandate is to sponsor higher education for bright, hardworking and underprivileged individuals on the Akuapem ridge. The Trust seeks to provide funding for the provision of human capital, educational infrastructure and facilities within the Akuapem locale.

As a matter of practice, applications are accepted at the beginning of each academic
year and closed just before the academic year starts.

- AET awards a varied number of full-tuition scholarships in each application round, based primarily on availability of funding and the quality of the applicant pool.
- One of these scholarships is dedicated to a student who has gained admission to study Akuapem Twi at the tertiary level.
No. Currently, the foundation only sponsors students who have gained admission into Ghanaian public tertiary institutions.
